FAQ

Who do I pay and what kind of payment do you accept?

All our host families are employees for Dogwalker Etc! LLC. The way our relationship works is that they focus 100% of their attention on caring for your dogs, and we take care of everything else like advertising, reservations, payment, etc. We accept credit cards on our website through PayPal or checks made payable to Dogwalker Etc. You can send the check to the address listed on our website.

How do I get started making a reservation for Dogwalker Etc’s private boarding service?

On our website, please click the Private Boarding section of our homepage. This will lead you to all our information regarding our private boarding services and rates as well. You may call or email our office, or fill out the registration on our website. Once we receive your request we will help you locate the host families near your home and make sure that if you have a favorite pet host family we will find out if they are available and try to match you to the family you requested.

Where would my pet sleep?

Wherever they feel comfortable, on the couch, on their bed or on our bed. Of course, we are happy to enforce any “house rules” you have for your pets, for example keeping them off the furniture.

How do you select the host families?

We are very selective when we hire host families because our clients not only deserve comfort but safety as well! First, we ask the potential host families to complete the application process. At that time we also request that they send us pictures of their home. We then schedule an interview. Provided that goes well, we then visit each family to inspect their home. We make sure that the host families will be able to spend most of their time at home and that their home is safe and pet friendly. We also make sure that they are knowledgeable about pet care. In addition, we offer them further pet related education.

May I offer gratuity to my pet host?

Yes, 100% of the gratuity on your payment goes to your host family.

Will I meet the host who will care for my pet?

Of course! When you contact us, we will match you with the perfect host family. We’ll then ask the host who is matched with your pet to contact you and arrange an interview in their home. This way you can make sure that the you and your pets feel comfortable with our host family.

Can I bring them their favorite toys and bed?

Yes, of course. They are allowed to have their special toys, treats and bed but always make sure to send in their food, because sudden changes in their diet may cause stomach upset. Please try to make sure that all toys and beds are freshly washed.
