Be
Kind to Animals:
Help Your Local Shelter
Your local
shelter and the animals they rescue and protect
can benefit from your generosity in a variety
of ways. Call them directly and ask them what
they need before making specific donations.

In addition to
needing monetary donations, shelters need supplies
and other assistance.
Here are some less obvious ways to help:
* Donate laundry
detergent or bleach. (They wash dozens of loads
of laundry each day!)
* Donate office supplies such as copy paper,
computer supplies, or postage stamps
* Volunteer time to help with animal care. Help
is often also needed for clerical duties.
Many shelters use volunteers to photograph new
animal residents
* Spread the word about community activities
and adoption days by passing out flyers, encouraging
friends to attend, or by volunteering your time
for the event(s).
